Kajabi SOS: Troubleshooting Guide for Four Common Issues

After about four years now of hanging out in the Kajabi Hero Facebook Community, I see the same questions get asked over and over again. (Hey, I get it! No judgement here. A new platform can be SO confusing to figure out!)

So, I figured I would take four common questions that I see get asked over and over again and answer them for you here!

So, back to some of the common issues - I’m going to list each one below and provide a written explanation, but seeing it in action is what’s most helpful! So don’t forget to scroll down to the YouTube video below where I take you inside of my own Kajabi account and walk you through each issue.

Here we go!

Issue #1: You're getting a "You don't have permission to access that page" error while trying to make a test purchase

This is one that definitely freaks people out and makes them think the checkout function isn’t working. But no need to stress! This error happens when you’re trying to purchase *while you’re logged in as an administrator.* Kajabi realizes you are logged into your own Kajabi account and prevents you from being able to purchase your own products.

So, the solution to this is simple: get the checkout page link (NOT the checkout preview link, but the actual checkout page link) and paste the link into an incognito browser window. Then, you can make a test purchase there if you’d like!

Issue #2: Your landing page is showing different information on desktop vs. mobile

This one can also be frustrating when you’re seeing discrepancies between desktop and mobile. All that’s going on is that you have different sections or blocks that are checked to be visible on either desktop or mobile, but not both. The great thing about building Kajabi landing pages is that you can create different designs for mobile and desktop to create an excellent user experience no matter what device your user is on. So, you’ll want to double check your sections and blocks on your page and figure out which ones are checked for both, and which ones are checked for one desktop or mobile and make any changes accordingly.

Issue #3: People are opting into your freebie, but not getting added as subscribers to your email list

Oof, I probably should have listed this one first because it might just be the most common question of all. Inside of your marketing form, you have the option to select double opt-in or single opt-in. If double opt-in is selected, your contact must first click a link confirming their subscription *before* they are officially subscribed to your email list. I won’t get into all the details of single and double opt-in here as there are rules and regulations like GDPR, but just know that from a technical standpoint, that’s what’s going on. You’ll need to do a little research and decide if you want to use single or double opt-in.

Issue #4: You want to sell something on Kajabi that's not a course or membership and not force your customer to create an account

Well, this one doesn’t actually have a solution (yet.) Because Kajabi was created as a course platform, the main premise behind it is that anyone purchasing from you is purchasing a course, which means they would need a log in. So, that is currently a requirement in order for someone to purchase from your Kajabi site. If you’re selling something that doesn’t have a product attached, there are a few things you can do to make the account setup process a little smoother - check out the YouTube video for that info!
